CFRP CARBON AND carbon fiber hybrid PLATES MANUFACTURED IN PRESS TECHNOLOGY
When pressing carbon plates, pre-impregnated fabrics and scrims are usually used. The composite carbon fiber plates are compressed under high pressure and heated at the same time, so that the fibers are completely permeated with the matrix and air pockets do not occur during curing. Epoxy resins with the required properties are usually used as the matrix. This process is primarily used to produce constant thickness carbon plates / carbon fiber plates. These carbon plates can then be further processed into more complex components. We develop and produce carbon plates according to your specifications and drawings. The carbon fibers are laid within the composite structure in such a way that the optimal strength values and rigidity for your application are achieved. After the first production step, the surfaces are basically blank. After further processing, the carbon fiber plates may then be given a matt and smooth surface. In general, the typical carbon fabric visual structure can be seen first. Carbon sandwich panels with maximum stiffness at minimum weight
Carbon sandwich plates are always used when maximum rigidity with minimum weight has to be achieved. For this composite plate combination, we use top layers made of thin carbon plates in connection with honeycomb cores made of aramid or aluminum. Different foam cores can also be used. Since the areas of application for carbon sandwich panels can be very different and this leads to almost endless product variations, we do not have a large stock of standard panels to choose from. These might not be optimal for your application and we at Carbon Composite in Waldstetten prefer to manufacture the carbon sandwich panels specifically to your requirements.
HYBRID PLATES and Carbon Hybrid Plates
The manufacturing process of the carbon hybrid and pure hybrid plates is the same as for our carbon plates and fiberglass plates. The positive properties of different fabrics are brought together, especially in the case of these panels, by means of the thermal high-pressure pressing process. For example, the carbon-aluminium mixtures increase the impact strength of the surfaces. The surface design of the carbon hybrid plates is silver on both sides and has the typical visible carbon fabric structure. With the pure hybrid panels, this decorative surface is present on one side. All carbon hybrid and pure hybrid plates available from stock can be found in our online shop.
